A vulnerable person was reported missing from home near Wooler on Saturday afternoon.
With nightfall rapidly approaching, coordinated searches of the open and wooded areas in the immediate vicinity were conducted by Northumbria Police, North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves, along with air support from the National Police Air Service.
Mountain Rescue search groups also utilised handheld thermal imaging technology to increase the likelihood of locating the missing person if they were still in the area.
Thankfully as the search progressed, it was confirmed that the missing women had been located outside of the search areas. Two Mountain Rescue medics were deployed to assess the missing person before they were left in the care of their family.
A good swift outcome for everyone concerned.
The incident involved 26 members for 3 hours 45 minutes.
