In the early hours of Friday morning, Northumbria Police requested our support again for another high risk missing female in the Whittingham area. Both Mountain Rescue Teams were immediately called out to search for the missing female.

A search plan was agreed with the Police Search Adviser and resources including two search dogs were swiftly deployed as they arrived at the RVP.

Thankfully within two and a half hours of the initial activation, one of our search groups located the missing female in a field. The female was walked back to the nearest road and following a further medical assessment, she was allowed to return home to her family. A great outcome for all concerned.

The incident involved 19 Team members for 4 hours 10 minutes.
