Northumbria Police requested Mountain Rescue’s assistance for a missing woman, who had been reported missing earlier on Saturday. She was last seen leaving a property that she was staying at with family, at around 11.30am.

In consultation with the Police Search Adviser an immediate deployment was agreed to search Marden Park nature reserve. Routes through the quarry were prioritised and searched by groups before members of North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves stood down at midnight.

The missing woman was located on Sunday morning outside of the area searched on Saturday night.

The incident involved 18 Team members for 4 hours 30 minutes.
