Incident Type: Search
Friday proved to be a busy day for our volunteers!
While some of them responded to an incident in Northumberland, one of our search dog handler’s travelled to the Lake District to assist Keswick Mountain Rescue Team in the search for a missing woman.
The search was centred around Whinlatter forest and involved volunteers from local mountain rescue and drone teams and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, alongside Cumbria Police.
Four search dogs including search dog Tess and her handler Brian, came to help search in what was very densely vegetated terrain with limited visibility. In the late afternoon search dog Kez along with handler Andy from the Cave Rescue Organisation, made the find – a good day for the dogs.
The woman was then taken to hospital by ambulance for further checks.
The incident involved 1 Team member for 5 hours 22 minutes.
