West/East Sleekburn

Northumbria Police requested Mountain Rescue to assist in the search for a high risk missing male in the West and East Sleekburn area of Northumberland on Tuesday. North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves were placed on standby, while one of our controllers travelled to the Police Silver Command to discuss and agree a search plan with the Police Search Adviser.

Thankfully as the Mountain Rescue controller was travelling, they received the good news that the male had returned, safe and well. A good outcome all round.

The incident involved 10 Team members on standby for 1 hour 20 minutes.
