On Friday the Mountain Rescue Teams were activated again by Northumbria Police as part of a follow up to incident number 30, the search in the Houghton-le-Spring area. The Teams were placed on standby for a potential search in an area not covered the previous day.

Following further discussions with the Police Search Adviser it was agreed that whilst Police investigations were continuing, the Teams would not be required to deploy at this stage.

The incident involved 10 Team members being on standby for 7 hours.
