A short lived incident on Thursday morning following a request for support from the North East Ambulance Service. An individual had turned up at Uswayford, a remote farmhouse in Upper Coquetdale, suffering from the cold having spent the night out in the area.
The Community Paramedic was unable to access the remote farm due to state of the track and a request for Mountain Rescue was duly made. Given the information available, and the likelihood that our vehicle would be required to either access the farm and/or provide transport to the road head, a limited response was initiated. A 4×4 response vehicle with two members including a Paramedic was swiftly deployed from our Rothbury base.
Shortly after our vehicle had been deployed, it was confirmed that Northumbria Police had assisted the Community Paramedic reach the farmhouse and Mountain Rescue was stood down.
The incident involved 8 Team members for 25 minutes.
