Throckley

On Sunday evening, a Mountain Rescue search group very sadly found a body close to Throckley, and whilst formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of a man who had been reported missing the day before. The man’s two dogs were also located in the same area, following information received from a member of the public, and have been returned home.

North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves, including a Mountain Rescue Search Dog England team and a drone team, assisted Northumbria Police to conduct extensive searches of routes and wooded areas close to Throckley before the find was made.

This wasn’t the outcome that any of us wanted and our thoughts are with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.
