A competitor in the Cheviots Challenge was reported to be struggling on the final steep climb up to border ridge. Two Team members including a Remote Rescue Medical Technician (formerly Mountain Rescue Casualty Carer) were deployed to assess the competitor. Following the medical assessment, the competitor was advised not to continue and was walked off the hill down The Street by the two members.

The Team also provided medical care for several other competitors who had suffered minor injuries during the event.

The incident involved 5 Team members for 2 hours.
