South Shields

On Monday morning North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves deployed to support Northumbria Police with a search of Temple Park in South Shields. A search plan was drawn up with the Police Search Adviser prior to the deployment of the Teams.

A detailed and thorough search of the park was conducted and whilst most of the area was not as overgrown as it was the last time we searched the park, some of the search sectors were still covered in thick brambles and heavy undergrowth making the going difficult.

By 17.50hrs all the prioritised areas had been searched. Unfortunately, nothing was found and Police enquiries are continuing to try to locate the high risk missing persons.

The incident involved 23 Team members for 8 hours 35 minutes.
