Slaley Forest

Incident Type: Standby

Late on Wednesday night, Northumbria Police activated Mountain Rescue for a missing person search in the Slaley Forest area of Northumberland. Following an initial discussion with the Police Search Adviser, the volunteers of North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves were put on standby.

Thankfully, as search plans were being prepared, the Police confirmed that the missing person had been found. The Teams stood down at this point.

The incident involved 5 Team members for 49 minutes. A further 8 members were on standby ready to respond.
