Incident Type: Rescue

The Team and our volunteers provided rescue support to the inaugural The Coquet Classic enduro event in the Rothbury area on Saturday. Unfortunately for one rider they had a tumble on Stage 1 and sustained a wrist injury. Unable to continue with the race, the rider was treated by the medical team before they and their mountain bike were walked off the hill with assistance from our volunteers.

The rider was then transported from the road head to the event centre by the medical team.

The event itself – the first mountain bike race in Rothbury for 35 years – was a great success and we’re glad all the riders enjoyed some of the best trails that Coquetdale and Northumberland has to offer.

The incident involved 4 Team members for 55 minutes. A further 4 members were also supporting the event.
