Scald Hill, Harthope Valley

28 August 2021

The second incident involved a couple out walking in The Cheviot Hills. The female sustained a lower leg injury and was unable to continue. Their location was approximately half way down Scald Hill towards the Harthope valley.

Once again both Mountain Rescues Teams responded to the request for assistance from the North East Ambulance Service.

Whilst travelling to the RVP an update was received from the Police that an estate worker in their 4x4 had reached the couple and they were being transported back down to the valley. The Teams stood down at this point and vehicles were returned to base.

The incident involved 8 Team members for 1 hour.
