On Friday afternoon local Team members in the Rothbury area responded to an incident involving a young girl. The young girl had sustained a lower leg injury whilst sledging with a friend on the edge of the village.
The girl was initially treated by Team members before the arrival of the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Community Paramedic. After pain relief the lower leg was immobilised, before the casualty was transferred to a Mountain Rescue stretcher. Team members and a member from the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team then carried the stretcher to the nearest road. A crewed Ambulance transferred the casualty to hospital.
The Team would like to wish the young girl well and thank the local community who cared for the casualty until the arrival of the Team and the Community Paramedic.
The incident involved 5 Team members for 2 hours 10 minutes.
