Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) once again requested Mountain Rescue’s support for a wildfire in Redesdale Forest, close to Cottonshopeburnfoot. Unfortunately on this occasion no drone pilots were immediately available. One of our Mountain Rescue Duty Controllers and Wildfire Lead did, however, travel to the incident to provide logistical support/advice and coordinate any further request for Mountain Rescue assets.
The multiagency incident involved NFRS and Scottish Fire Service crews, Forestry England, Ministry of Defence, Landmarc and local farmers with water bowsers, alongside Mountain Rescue.
The incident involved 2 member for 5 hours 35 minutes.
