Plessey Woods

The North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust requested Mountain Rescue’s support in confirming the location of the patient of a collapsed patient in the Plessey Woods area and potentially in assisting with the evacuation.

The volunteers from North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and our Team were placed on standby by the Duty Controller whilst further information was gathered. PhoneFind - a location tool - was also used to confirm location of the patient.

Once on scene the NEAS crew and the Hazardous Area Response Team confirmed that they were able to deal with the incident without further involvement of Mountain Rescue. At this point the Teams were stood down.

The incident involved 18 members for 45 minutes.
