Incident Type: Alert

North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team alerted us to a potential incident at an organised event in the Kidland Forest area.

Two North of Tyne team members, who were training nearby, quickly investigated. After liaison between controllers and the event organisers, it was confirmed that Mountain Rescue assistance was not required.

This alert remained within the controllers group and the wider teams were not put on standby.

Even when our resources aren’t needed, every alert is taken seriously to ensure the safety of those enjoying the outdoors.

The incident involved 4 Team members for 5 minutes. A further 3 members were on standby in readiness to deploy if the incident escalated.
