Incident Type: Rescue
Whilst undertaking some observed blue light driving CPD in one of our team vehicles, one of our paramedics noticed a person lying on the ground near to the entrance to County Hall in Morpeth.
Suspecting that the person was unwell he suggested that the vehicle quickly turnaround and go and assist. They arrived on scene to find that a lady was on the ground and that a bystander had just witnessed her resting on a low wall before collapsing.
Our paramedic then assessed the casualty, assisted by another team member while a third rang 999 and a double crewed ambulance from the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust was allocated to attend. The team members continued to care for the casualty until the DCA arrived. The casualty was then transferred to hospital. We wish her a swift recovery.
The incident involved 3 team members for 35 minutes.
