Incident Type: Search

Northumbria Police activated the Mountain Rescue Teams for a 50 year old high risk missing male in the Morpeth area.

The two Teams deployed overnight to conduct hasty searches along prioritised routes based on agreed search scenarios. These routes included footpaths alongside the River Wansbeck, around Carlisle Park and up through Blue Bell Woods.

Having completed the prioritised routes, mainly in the dark, it was agreed with the Police Search Adviser that the Teams would stand down. At this point no further information was available.

The search also involved drones from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service and the Police.

The incident involved 17 Team members for 7 hours 10 minutes.
