Malton, North Yorkshire

On Friday night the Team’s support was requested by Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team for a flood event in North Yorkshire. Our water response team was put on standby, alongside other North East Search and Rescue Association teams, in case the sand bagging and pumping failed to protect the water defences in Malton. In readiness members attended Pegswood Community Fire Station to prepare our vehicles for a two hour drive down to North Yorkshire.

Thankfully the efforts of all the agencies involved meant that the Team could stand down without the need to deploy.

The incident involved 9 Team members for 3 hours 30 minutes.
