Lordenshaws

Conditions on the hills and the rural roads were truly wintery last weekend. On Saturday afternoon a number of vehicles slipped off the road due to the snow and ice and were blocking the road from Lordenshaws car park towards Forestburn Gate.

A Team member in our Toyota Hilux came across the RTC. While he and another Team member checked on the welfare of those involved, our Team Leader liaised with the Duty Silver Commander at Northumbria Police. Thankfully nobody had sustained any injuries.

With assistance from the local shepherd one of the vehicles was pulled back onto the road and the Police with Mountain Rescue support attempted to move the other vehicles.

The incident involved 3 Team members for 2 hours 15 minutes.
