Incident Type: Rescue

The North East Ambulance Service received a 999 call from two walkers on Holystone Common. One of the walkers was suffering from a potentially serious medical issue. Given the walkers’ location, the two Mountain Rescue Teams were once again requested.

On arrival in Holystone, shortly after the double crewed ambulance, one of our local Team members confirmed that the walkers had self rescued to the roadside. The walkers were left in the care of the NEAS and the Teams stood down.

The incident involved 16 Team members for 35 minutes.
