A male sustained a lower leg injury whilst walking in the Hareshaw Linn area. A Community Paramedic had been despatched by the North East Ambulance Service, who once on scene requested Mountain Rescue’s assistance.

Our vehicle from Rothbury, Curlew Echo, and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team’s Landrover were swiftly deployed and members called out to RV at Hainingrigg Farm near to Bellingham. As soon as our vital rescue equipment and sufficient members were at the scene, the casualty was packaged into a vacuum mattress and the Titan stretcher. They were carried on the stretcher by Team members along the footpath to the edge of the wood where the casualty was transferred to the Community Paramedic’s 4x4 vehicle by 19.40hrs.

The incident involved 19 Team members for 3 hours.
