Northumbria Police requested Mountain Rescue’s support for a missing man year old in Haltwhistle area. The man had left his home address earlier that day and the Police were concerned for his well-being.
As our operational command travelled to Haltwhistle, new information indicated that Mountain Rescue’s specialist search resources were no longer required. At this point North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves stood down.
The next day it was confirmed by the Police Search Adviser that the missing person had been located safe.
The incident involved 4 Team members for 2 hours 40 minutes, with another 15 members on standby.
