Last weekend the Team provided medical cover for the Alwinton Border Shepherds’ Show and event cover for the children’s and adults’ fell race. A three mile blast starting and finishing in the Show field.

During the children’s fell race, on of the competitors sustained an ankle injury and was unable to weight bear. Initial treatment was provided on the hill before one of our 4×4 response vehicles evacuated the competitor, along with two dropouts, from the side of Greendside hill to the race finish.

Once all competitors were back down at the fell race marquee, the injured competitor was assessed and treatment given by two of the Team’s healthcare professionals before being discharged.

The incident involved 8 Team members for 1 hour 10 minutes.
