Incident Type: Rescue

A member of a walking party collapsed on the path up towards Darden Lough from the Grasslees lay-by. The North East Ambulance Service and Mountain Rescue responded with resources swiftly deployed from Rothbury and further afield.

On reaching the casualty, the Community Paramedic assessed the walker before it was agreed they could slowly make their way down the hill. Once down at the Grasslees Burn, the walker was transferred into a Mountain Rescue 4×4 vehicle for the short off-road journey to the crewed Ambulance.
We wish the walker well for a full and swift recovery.

The incident involved 14 Team members for 1 hour 45 minutes.
