Gosforth Park

Incident Type: Search

Our first incident of 2025 saw our members responding to a request for a search to locate a missing person in the North Tyneside Area. The high risk missing person was thought to be in the Gosforth Park area. Following a discussion with the POLSA (Police Search Advisor), it was agreed that we would search three specific areas, and the teams were called out at 17.53hrs.

As team members were being mobilised and vehicles collected from their respective team bases, Northumbria Police reported to ourselves and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team that the individual had been safely located by their officers.

Although we were not needed on this occasion, the swift response from our volunteers meant that we were ready to act if things had turned out differently.
The incident involved 23 members from both teams for a total of 1hr 30 minutes.
