On Monday lunchtime the North East Ambulance Service activated North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves for an incident on farmland between Gilsland and Greenhead.
Alongside the responding NEAS resources, the Teams deployed three 4×4 response vehicles. Two of those vehicles were already on the road with team members taking part in blue light response driving training. The Great North Air Ambulance Service was also tasked to the incident.
Once GNAAS had landed on and assessed the situation, it was confirmed that Mountain Rescue resources were no longer required. By this point a small number of local team members were already on scene and they supported with the evacuation of the patient to the aircraft. We wish the patient well for a full and swift recovery.
The incident involved 20 members for 1 hour 45 minutes.
