Incident Type: Rescue

While supporting the Trail Outlaws Half Marathon, the Team responded to a report of an injured runner on St Cuthbert’s Way east of Gains Law. The runner had sustained a lower leg injury and were unable to weight bear.

Team members assessed and immobilised the injury before transporting the injured runner off the hill in a 4×4 response vehicle to meet a North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust ambulance at the Duck Ponds for onward travel to hospital.

The incident involved 8 Team members for 1 hour 35 minutes.
