Fallowlees

On Sunday evening Northumbria Police alerted North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves for two walkers and their two dogs after they had become disoriented in the Simonside area. The couple eventually ended up at Fallowlees Farm on the edge of Harwood Forest.

PhoneFind was used to confirm the couple’s location and our Duty Controller spoke to the couple to check on their welfare. Two 4×4 response vehicles were swiftly readied for deployment, with our Toyota Hilux and two members from Rothbury sent to collect the couple.

By 18.30hrs the couple had been safely located at Fallowlees. They were then transported back through Harwood Forest and Simonside Forest to their car at Lordenshaws. All ended well and members were stood down in time for their Sunday dinner!

The incident involved 5 Team members for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
