Detchant Wood

Incident Type: Rescue

A male who was part of a shooting party had sustained a leg injury in a fall in Detchant Wood, near Belford. As local Mountain Rescue resources were travelling to the incident and as search groups were being pulled away from the Blyth search, confirmation was received from the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust that a double crewed ambulance had accessed the injured party’s location and they were receiving treatment.

At this point the Teams stood down and the search at Blyth was completed.

The incident involved 16 Team members for 25 minutes.
