Deadwater Moor – Kielder

On Tuesday, Northumbria Police requested the assistance of ourselves and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team in locating a missing person after concerns were raised by the Forestry Commission. There were concerns about the individual, who was a contractor conducting environmental surveys, which prompted a search response.

With limited details on their last known location, a small team was deployed while further intelligence was gathered. Our search managers and double-crewed vehicles were en route when the missing person’s vehicle was located near Deadwater Fell. Shortly after, the individual was found safe by Police and Forestry England personnel.

We’re grateful for the positive outcome and would like to thank all agencies involved for their coordination and swift action.

The incident involved 11 Team members with a further 6 on standby for 3hrs 22 minutes
