No sooner had the Mountain Rescue Teams been called for the wildfire incident, North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust activated us for an incident at what has become a ‘hot spot’ for us, Crammel Linn. Two further Mountain Rescue vehicles were swiftly deployed from their respective bases at West Denton and Pegswood and a full team callout was initiated.
Thankfully as members were leaving home and work to respond to the far side of the county, the Ambulance Service confirmed the casualty was not as seriously injured as first thought. As the Great North Air Ambulance Service and a crewed Ambulance were able to deal with the incident, we stood down from this incident.
