Incident Type: Advice/Support

On Bank Holiday Monday evening our duty controller received a call from Northumbria Police. A 999 call had been made by the wife of a solo walker who had set out to walk ‘the Cheviot Round’ and had not returned home. Unfortunately no details of the man’s intended route had been left and the options for ‘the Cheviot Round’ range from a new 50 mile ultra from Alwinton, a 38km route over the 2,000 feet peaks in the Cheviot Hills to the round of The Cheviot and Hedgehope Hill!

Thankfully before the incident escalated, the Police received a further call from the man’s wife confirming the walker had been in contact and he was safe and well. A good, swift outcome.

The incident involved 1 Team member for 15 minutes.
