Ashington

A walker with their dog became disoriented in the woods north of Ashington earlier in the week and they were unable relocate themselves. Northumbria Police requested Mountain Rescue’s support and a PhoneFind text was sent to the walker’s mobile in an attempt to confirm their location. With the walker’s location now known, they were advised to hold their position while a limited response was initiated.

A team member, who was in the local area, located the walker and their dog and then walked them back to the outskirts of Ashington. All ended well.

The incident involved 2 Team members for 1 hour.
