Earlier in the week a body was sadly found in the search for a male in his 60s who was missing from Amble. The male had last been seen the previous day on Philip Drive in Amble.
Northumbria Police and HM Coastguard Northumberland searched overnight and the search was extended on Tuesday morning with the assistance of North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves. The Mountain Rescue overhead team attended Bedlington Police Station to be briefed by the Police Search Adviser and Silver Commander, and to agree a search strategy and plan.
Soon after the Teams had been called out, an update was received that a body had been found.
A very sad outcome for all concerned.
The incident involved 18 members for 2 hours 45 minutes.
