Later the same evening, Northumbria Police requested support for a lone female walker who had become disoriented in the dark at Allen Banks. At the time of the 999 call no location information was available as the call had been received through a roamer network.

Thankfully the female had managed to re-locate herself to an area where she had a mobile signal and we were able to confirm her location using a PhoneFind. The female was then advised by our Duty Controller to remain at her location until Team members arrived.

By shortly after 19.00hrs, the female had been located and escorted back to her car at the National Trust car park by a Team member and a Police officer, where we wished her a safe onward journey back home.

The incident involved 6 Team members for 2 hours 30 minutes.
