A young person had fallen onto rocks in the Allen Banks area and the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust requested Mountain Rescue’s support given the potential difficulty in accessing the incident site.

A Mountain Rescue operational commander, two blue light response vehicles and other volunteers members were deployed to the National Trust car park at Allen Banks alongside other emergency services. Shortly after the first Mountain Rescue resources arrived at the RVP, it was confirmed that the casualty was thankfully being airlifted to hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The multiagency incident also involved Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service and Northumbria Police.

The incident involved 14 members for 2 hours.
