Akeld

North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team and ourselves responded to a request for support from Northumbria Police late on Saturday night. A vulnerable women had been reported missing from her home near Akeld earlier in the evening.

Following discussions with the Police Search Adviser, it was agreed that two of our duty controllers and search managers would travel to Akeld to liaise with the Police. On arrival at the RVP and as the search parameters were being defined in conjunction with the Police Search Adviser, a general purpose Police dog located the missing women.

A great outcome for all concerned.

The incident involved two Team members for 3 hours 47 minutes.
