Later on Wednesday evening we received our second alert of the day, when, along with NOTMRT we were alerted by Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service to a serious incident near Kipper Hill, Berwick.
A walker had slipped and was left clinging to the cliff edge — above an estimated 25m drop. A swift multi-agency response was launched, with fire crews from Berwick and Eyemouth on their way as Mountain Rescue and HM Coastguard were activated.
Fortunately, before MR teams deployed, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service were able to carry out a successful line rescue, bringing the individual to safety.
The incident involved 4 Team members for 10 minutes.
