Duck Race
Help The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team by buying a duck for our duck race at 3pm on Sunday 17th May near Bulby’s Wood Car Park in the Ingram Valley.
Only £2 per duck, or a family of 5 ducks for £10!
Lots of prizes to be won!
This event is part of our 60th Anniversary Training Event. As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, we’re heading back to where it all began…
In May 1966, the very first team training session of the Northumberland National Park voluntary wardens took place in the beautiful Ingram Valley. Nearly six decades on, we’re returning to this special location for a weekend of training, history, and community.
We’ll be running a range of training sessions throughout the day to showcase what we do. This is a fantastic opportunity to come along, watch our volunteers in action, and find out more about mountain rescue.
- Our support group will be there to chat and answer questions.
- Try your hand at CPR training, or chat with dementia nurse Amy Holtom.
- Grab some lunch from the burger van (or bring your own!)
In the afternoon, we’ll bring everything together with a training incident scenario, followed by some family-friendly fun…
🦆 Duck Race!
- £2 per duck
- £10 for a family of 5 ducks
This is shaping up to be a brilliant day for all ages – whether you’re interested in what we do, want to support the team, or just fancy a great day out in the valley.
Come along, say hello, and help us celebrate 60 years of mountain rescue!
