  • Wooler Callout

    The team were called out in the early hours of Friday 16th January.

    The Black Bull in Wooler raised the alarm when a guest failed to return on Thursday evening after going on a bike ride in the Cheviots.

    The team along with North of Tyne MRT, Borders SARU and a Sea King from RAF Boulmer spent the night searching tracks and bridleways for the missing man.

    The team were called out to assist in the serach for missing Washington man Colin Pine. How has not been seen since watching the Tyne Wear derby on Sunday 21st.

  • Team Assist Stranded Motorists

    Last night (10/12/14) The team along with North of Tyne MRT, Tweed Valley MRT and Borders SARU were called to assist stranded motorists on the A68 at Carter Bar.

    Around 30 vehicles were stuck on both sides of the border.

    The teams used their 4x4 vehicles to get the stranded vehicles to better road conditions.

    Thankfully nobody was injured and the road reopened ariound 02:00 on Thursday.

  • Casualty Care Exam

    'Congratulations to team members Andrew Brunt, Paul Freeman and Fiona Thompson who re-sat and passed the Mountain Rescue Basic Casualty Care exam on December 2nd 2012 and to Jamie Pattison who passed for the first time.
    By all accounts the practical scenarios were particularly challenging this year since trauma and medical were combined in each scenario.'
