Support Team

Support Team

The Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team is a registered charity and is reliant on public donations to provide its highly professional, emergency search and rescue service. It costs £40k per year to keep us operational. Last year we spent 290 days directly involved in OPERATIONAL search and rescue activities.

This figure excludes the 8288 volunteer hours involved in governance and
administration, training, vehicle and equipment maintenance, fundraising and liaison with, and briefing of, other agencies. With such a huge pressure on volunteer time it gets more and more difficult to dedicate the time needed to fundraise. This year sees the launch of a new support team.

The Support Team aims to assist the team by working in support of the operational activities. This may include fundraising, helping with training, attending public engagement events to raise the profile of the team and much more. If you feel passionate about the work that we do and feel you have time to volunteer we would love to hear from you.

You can contact the Support Team at and ask for more details.
